Modernization of Bachelor Programs in Engineering in accordance with International Standards of Engineering Education

The project is aimed at elaboration of set of instructional guidelines for development of undergraduate learning outcomes based on international standards of engineering education. The project outcomes intended for usage within program "Open University Skolkovo" and for training of staff personnel involved in creation and operation of Skolkovo Innovation Center in priority areas defined by the Federal Law n.244-FL from September 28, 2011 "On Skolkovo Innovation Center"

Main tasks

  1. Research and critical analysis of requirements of international standards of engineering education to competences of bachelor graduates (IEA Graduate Attributes and Professional Competences, CDIO Syllabus, EUR-ACE Framework Standards - First Cycle, etc.) and professional engineers (EMF PE, APEC Engineer Register, etc.).
  2. Analysis and international review of requirements Russian professional standards, Russian Federal Educational Standards and national employers to bachelor programs in engineering (in designated priority areas).
  3. Elaboration and international review of integral list of bachelor competences those are adequate for complex engineering activity in modern professional environments.
  4. Modernization of methodology for curriculum design of bachelor programs in engineering in accordance with international standards of professional accreditation.
  5. Formulation of recommendations on realization of bachelor programs taking into account world best practices of implementation of effective educational technologies (Learning VS Teaching, Student - Сentred Education, Problem and project based learning, сase-study, etc.).
  6. Elaboration of recommendations on nomenclature of bachelor programs in engineering (in designated priority areas) in compliance with world practices.
  7. Development of integrated model of quality management system for bachelor programs in engineering based on an educational standard of university (ISO 9001:2008 (IWA 2:2007), Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area, etc.).
